Robben Will Return Strengthen Bayern
Munich – Towards a duel contra Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal semifinal tonight (28/04/2014), Bayern Munich gets a fresh breeze. Arjen Robben ensured flagship player can be played back.
Dutch winger has spent more than a month to recover abdominal injury he sustained while Bayern defeated Borussia Moenchengladbach 2-0 on 22 March.
Robben already packed 19 goals in all competitions, the third highest scorer in the club after Robert Lewandowski (22) and Thomas Mueller (20).
“We need him. A good news that he is back but do not forget that he’s just been sidelined for five weeks,” said Bayern coach Josep Guardiola at Soccer Way.
“He does not need much time to regain fitness and rhythm. Robben is a special player. He can just play, he’s one of the many options available.”
Bayern just make sure the trophy in the hands after securing the Bundesliga championship title when the competition still remaining four games. However, there is no excessive euphoria because Dortmund was already waiting at the Allianz Arena.
“We successfully defended the championship title so we are very happy. Thanks to the players,” said Pep.
“We do not have much time to celebrate. We now have an important game against Dortmund in the semifinals.”
